🍑 A Peachy Afternoon at Bridge House 🍑

Our residents and visitors enjoyed a peach-themed afternoon tea today, 😊

celebrating this delicious summer fruit in plenty of different ways. 🌸🍑

Our peach-inspired menu included:

🍑 Classic Peach Melba
🍑 Fresh, juicy peaches
🍑 Refreshing peach iced tea 🫖
🍑 Peach spritz 🥂
🍑 Delicious peach cakes 🧁
🍑 Beautiful peach tarts 🥧

It was wonderful to see our residents enjoying the food, sharing conversations and making the most of a lovely afternoon together. 💕

And for a little peachy trivia… 🍑 Did you know that peaches belong to the rose family? 🌹 A rather fitting fact for such a beautiful summer-themed afternoon!

🎪 BRIDGE HOUSE ANNUAL SUMMER FAIR — WITH A CIRCUS TWIST! 🎪

What a fun-filled, fabulous afternoon we had at Bridge House! ☀️🎪

It may have been a little on the hot side, 🥵 but that certainly didn’t stop the fun, laughter and a little bit of circus chaos! 🤡

A huge thank you to my wonderful team for all your hard work in making the afternoon such a success, and to all our fantastic stallholders for joining us and bringing so much colour and fun to the day!

🎶 We were treated to wonderful music from Jovan and the amazig @katy cartwheel who kept everyone entertained and dancing.

🍭 A special thank you to @KLTtreats for the delicious candy floss — definitely a fairground favourite!

And a huge shout-out to our new favorite Mayor of Abingdon on Thames, Andrew Skinner for being such a brilliant sport! From having a go at Hook-a-Duck to attempting plate spinning, he truly threw himself into the circus spirit. 🤹‍♂️😂

And finally, to my amazing Bridge House volunteers — I genuinely cannot imagine Bridge House life without you. Your support, enthusiasm and willingness to get stuck in means more than you know. ❤️ #friendsofbridgehouse

It was a wonderful afternoon filled with smiles, music, laughter and memories.

🎪 I think it’s safe to say we really did run away with the circus! 🤡

☀️🧸 Summer Little Bears: Bubble & Splash Party! 🫧💦

What a wonderful time we had at our latest Little Bears intergenerational session! 🐻❤️

Making the most of the summer sunshine, we found a lovely shady spot beneath the trees for a morning of bubble and splashy fun! 🌳☀️

From catching fish 🎣 and playful water squirters 💦 to blowing bubbles — including some giant bubbles that had everyone watching in amazement! 🫧✨ There was plenty of singing, laughter, playful moments and, most importantly, lots of wonderful time spent together. 🎶🥰

These intergenerational sessions are all about sharing experiences, building connections and creating those lovely little moments between generations — and this one was definitely a splash hit! 💦🐻💕
