Bridge House Delighted to Receive Second Covid Vaccine

With an air of celebration and anticipation for the year ahead, the second and final dose of the vaccine was administered to excited residents and team members in March.

We are proud to support the roll-out of the COVID-19 vaccination in our home, boosting our existing safety measures and bringing a much-welcomed light at the end of the tunnel.

Speaking of receiving her second immunisation jab, our resident Mary says: “It feels wonderful to have had both my vaccines. I’m feeling good!” A sentiment shared by fellow resident Enid who tells us: “I’m very grateful and thankful to be here, where the team got it organised and completed so effectively. I was made to feel very reassured.”

Lifestyle Coordinator, Chantelle adds that: “There was a party atmosphere the day we received our second dose of the vaccine. Everyone felt it was something they really wanted to celebrate! A year on from the start of the pandemic this finally gives everyone back a real sense of hope for the future.”

Similarly reassured, Bridge House’s Home Manager, Lucy Porter, told us: “We are so proud to be part of the national roll-out of the vaccine and play our part in protecting not only our residents and team but also our community here in Abingdon.”

As lockdown restrictions start to ease, we will continue to work in line with national and local guidance regarding the stringent upkeep of our enhanced safety measures that have been in place over the past year. This includes regular testing for team members and residents, high-quality PPE worn at all times by all members of our team, enhanced cleaning schedules, and regular reviews of our approach to ensure we remain at the forefront of the fight against Covid-19.
