Heart of Gold Awards 2016

Norman Smith is nominated as this year’s Heart of Gold Ambassador at Bridge House Care Home.

Norman Smith has won a Heart of Gold Award at a ceremony on 17th November. Norman has worked in maintenance at the care home for three years.

The Awards seek to recognise employees for their dedication and commitment in providing high quality care and compassion to all the home’s residents.

June Maharaj, manager of Bridge House said, “Norman is a courteous and reliable staff member, very dependable and understanding of individual resident’s needs. He has also enriched the staff team at Bridge House. He is very deserving of a Heart of Gold Award.”

Norman was presented with an Emporio Armani watch to commemorate his success by Rahim Dhanani, Chairman of Carebase.

Nominations for the award came from residents and their relatives, co-workers, social workers and local health professionals. Norman was chosen from the list of nominations by a panel of previous Heart of Gold award winners from all the other homes in the Bridge House group.

Norman said, “I am so honoured to have won this award. I love working at Bridge House and consider the staff and resident’s to be my family. Thank you everyone”.

Altogether there were 27 nominees for the award at Bridge House and all nominees received a Heart of Gold lapel pin.
