Dementia Community Roadshow begins journey

The Dementia Community Roadshow is to start its journey across the country, spreading awareness and information about a condition that affects hundreds of thousands of people in the country.

The Dementia Community Roadshow is to start its journey across the country, spreading awareness and information about a condition that affects hundreds of thousands of people in the country. The project, which began in 2011, provides free information and support to people with questions about dementia by travelling around the UK.

The project looks to help rural areas gain access to information they might not already have at their disposal, unlike the families of residents of care homes in Britain, and aims to reach 100,000 people in the UK. The Roadshow has already reached 98,000 people, with 22,000 coming on board the Roadshow vehicles that visit Tesco car parks and other locations across the country.

The project is funded by the supermarket chain and offers information to local residents, as well as the opportunity to speak to Alzheimer’s Society staff.

Offering free publications and the time to talk to Alzheimer’s Society staff and volunteers, as well as information on local services, the Roadshow hopes to inform and change the lives of those suffering with dementia and their family and friends.
