Bridge House Lifestyle Coordinators win Care Home Worker Award at the Oxfordshire Care Awards 2016
Chantelle Merritt and Katie Marshall, our two bubbly, lively, Lifestyle Coordinators working at Bridge House Care Home, are the deserving winners of the Oxfordshire Association of Care Providers – Inspirations for All: Care Home Worker Award 2016.
Chantelle says, “It’s great! At Bridge House we are a community but we’re not isolated or cut off. We are about bringing the outside in, whilst actively supporting residents desires to go out and about, we encourage community interaction – it’s a vibrant and exciting model of care!”
Chantelle and Katie continue to push the boundaries to bring novel and exciting activities to Bridge House. They work hard work hard and continue to strive to ensure residents’ quality of life is meaningful and fulfilled. Chantelle explains: “Activities are varied – film club, talks and discussion groups, themed events and external visits are consistently and carefully planned to meet the needs of our residents”.
“We both love our jobs, every day is different. We aim to give residents, experiences that create excitement and new memories, which we hope, they will never forget. We are taking someone who is in a wheel chair – ice-skating this winter, as it is something they have always wanted to do!”
The team at Bridge House Care Home truly do make a difference to their residents’ lives. Life doesn’t have to stop because you or a loved one or friend moves into a residential care home – it can just be the beginning of a brand new, life changing experience! To coin an advertising slogan ‘the futures bright’, it definitely is at Bridge House, with bright stars – Chantelle and Katie!
Carebase Group owners of Bridge House Abingdon wins prestigious care award for the second time
Carebase beat nine other finalists to take the Care Employer Award in this year’s Great British Care Awards 2015 held at the ICC, Birmingham on April 24th.
The company, which has previously won the award in 2010, was praised by the judges for “the infectious enthusiasm and the commitment and innovation they demonstrated in encouraging and rewarding their teams – a role model for employers”.
